A new study by Belgian vegan brand Alpro found that 3 million Britons buy 21 million plant-based coffee drinks every week.
About half (48 percent) of British coffee consumers choose herbal options for milk when buying these drinks outside the home. “Our new study shows that coffee outlets of all shapes and sizes have a great opportunity to make sure that they make the most of plant products over the coming year,” said Abby Hickman, head of coffee marketing at Alpro United Kingdom and Ireland’s.
“No longer a niche offer, the plant base has already firmly gained popularity as a choice for the ever-growing number of coffee drinkers, regardless of their dietary conviction,” continued Abby Hickman.“To make the most of the British choice in favor of herbal coffee drinks, cafe and barista owners should add to their menu a wide selection of options for such plant-based drinks,” recommends Hickman.
In recent years, vegan products have appeared in coffee houses, and to meet this demand, Starbucks UK coffee company has reformatted the mixture for its famous pumpkin spice, excluding animal products from it.
