Importers of Ukrainian apples from the countries of Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe speak of quality comparable to apples from the United States at a fairly competitive price. It is reported by the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA).
The price of an apple grown in Ukraine is much higher than for the same product from Poland, said the head of the UPOA Fyodor Rybalko.
According to him, in the United Arab Emirates, after the successful entry into the Ukrainian apple market, some importers completely refused to purchase Polish fruits.
According to Fedor Rybalko, at the moment there is only one pleasant problem, which is that the demand for Ukrainian apples is higher than the supply of the right varieties of apples and quality parameters. The latter is due to the lack of domestic gardeners capacities for storage, processing and marketing of fruits.
World trade in apples continues to slow down. In 2018, there was a record decline in both import and export of apples around the world, which reached the mark of 16% in physical terms.
But UPRA is of the opinion that it is too early for Ukrainian gardeners to be disappointed, since Ukraine has unique climatic conditions for producing premium-quality apples.
