Astra is a surprisingly beautiful flower that serves as a real decoration of a flower bed.
Very often, the time to collect seeds falls at a time when prolonged heavy rainfall begins in the form of rains or even the first frosts. By this time, not all flowers have the ability to mature and die. Or they begin to rot in high humidity.
the period of collecting seeds from asters begins one and a half to two months after the flowering period has begun.
Therefore, many gardeners practice a special method of collecting seeds - they cut off the heads of asters and lay them out in the house (on window sills, balconies, loggias and on cupboards). However, this method is far from always effective! Indeed, often the seeds that were obtained in this way can be considered suitable for subsequent planting.
It is important to wait until the flowers fade and the petals dry. The center of the inflorescence darkens, its surface is covered with white fluff.
How to collect the seeds of this beautiful plant, so that there is a guarantee of maintaining their ability to resemble?
There is an answer to this question: you can dig a whole bush and plant it in a large pot, putting it in the house. To mature, an aster will need about a crescent. Provided that you provide it with maintenance at a temperature in the range of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.
Experienced flower growers in this case recommend placing the pot with the plant on the windowsill and periodically turning it around the axis. In this way, the plant will receive enough sunlight.
Do not forget to make a note on the packaging with seeds with the following data: flower color, its appearance, and also the date of collection.
