Last weekend was marked by a tragedy for livestock in the Penza region. The fact is that in the territory of the Gorodishchensky district on the afternoon of June 29, 2019, fourteen cows fell under the wheels of the railway train.
It is known that a herd of cows was controlled by two shepherds at once. However, they could not keep track of the herd, which somehow climbed onto the rails located on a high embankment.
While the shepherds were gape, and the cows grazed peacefully on the railway track, the train following the route Tomsk - Anapa was approaching the site of unauthorized grazing. Seeing the cows on their way, the driver took emergency braking measures. This happened on the stretch between the villages of Shnaevo and Kanaevka.
Fortunately, during the sharp braking of the train, none of the passengers on the train heading south were injured. The incident on the road only affected the arrival time of the train, which arrived in Anapa with a slight delay.
However, four cows that grazed on the tracks while following the train died. Ten more individuals were seriously injured.
And now the owners of the herd will be forced to send the affected animals for slaughter. Such information was shared by representatives of the linear department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza region.
