Sumy residents complained to the State Ecological Inspectorate of Sumy Region about the director of the Crocodile Farm for poor conditions for keeping reptiles.
The entrepreneur was fined in the amount of UAH 5,950, the Inspection said in a statement.
The Law of Ukraine "On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty" prohibits the use of wild animals in bullfighting, the creation and operation of mobile menageries, mobile zoos and similar exhibitions of wild animals, as well as the functioning of dolphinariums that do not use ordinary sea water.But despite this, tours of traveling exhibitions, zoos and menageries throughout the country continue. So, for a long time the inhabitants of Sumy were invited to have fun by the Crocodile Farm.
But not all local residents liked such entertainment and the conditions for keeping crocodiles on the "farm". Sumy began to complain to the inspection.Appeals by concerned citizens, as well as part 2. Art. 89 and Art. 2421, 283, 284 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, Art. 35 of the Law of Ukraine "On the protection of animals from cruel treatment" became the basis for bringing to administrative responsibility and imposing a fine in the amount of UAH 5950.00. to the owner of the Crocodile Farm for violating the rules for keeping wild animals.
