In Serbia, foci of infection with African swine fever were recorded.
As for Slovakia, the insidious virus visited there a few weeks before the “visit” to the Serbian expanses. African plague and pigs are becoming more frequent in Romania, Bulgaria and Poland.
Such information was shared with the world community by representatives of the government of the United States of America. Meanwhile, the Pan-European Veterinary Association is sounding the alarm - outbreaks of the virus have been recorded in the territories of such countries as Latvia and Estonia. True, in these countries, the virus of African swine fever was detected in wild boars.
It is noteworthy that the lion's share of countries that have affected ASF are not among the key suppliers of pork to the world market, however. They are in threatening proximity to producing countries that supply a wide range of importers to pork.
Recall that the total attack of world pigs began in the People's Republic of China in 2018.
Since then, there has been a constant high threat on a global scale, since it is in China that the overwhelming majority of the world's pig population is kept.
