Officials gave the green light for the development of the largest in the history of Snowdonia - the region in the north of Wales (UK), the poultry farm.
The farm, designed for 32,500 chickens, will cover an area of 2700 square meters of agricultural land in Llanegrin, near Tivin. Also, the farm will also have access to 40 acres of adjoining land on which chickens can roam.
Farmers Glyn and Janet Pugh applied for planning permission back in October 2018. However, some locals objected to the construction of the farm because of problems with noise, smell and pollution, as well as its possible negative impact on the nearby Snowdonia National Park.
But members of the administration of the Snowdonia National Park approved the application for the construction of the farm, because the applicants provided reliable evidence of the farm’s safety, satisfying the concerns of officials.
Giving green light to the construction of the poultry farm, authorities recommended providing the farm with an odor control plant and introducing restrictions on the supply of feed. One official, Elfed Powell Roberts, an adviser to Gwynedd, said the national park should "support a young Welsh family that is trying to diversify its business."
