Today, farms in the Kamchatka Territory number more than twenty-five thousand pigs and at least three thousand goats and sheep. As for poultry, its number at Kamchatka poultry farms today exceeds 249 thousand heads.
Kamchatstat employees were not too lazy and found out that at the end of 2018 there were about 10 thousand representatives of cattle in the region. This is 0.7% less than it was registered at the end of 2017. However, experts note that the indicators of the number of small livestock are encouraging: for example, the number of pigs increased by almost 42%, and the increase in goats and sheep was 0.3%. But the bird population is declining - compared with last year, today there are 12% fewer birds.
Based on statistical data, it was possible to find out that the Kamchatka breeders in 2018 produced more than 7280 tons of live weight of livestock and birds. And this is almost 19% more than in the same period of 2017.
It is also noted that in the agricultural associations of the Kamchatka Territory, livestock and poultry production for slaughter reached 5.5 thousand tons (+ 18.6%)
In 2018, households and peasant farms accounted for 24.4% of livestock and poultry produced for slaughter.
