The main zones for growing watermelons in the Altai Territory are concentrated in the steppes of Baevsky, Klyuchevsky, Kulundinsky, Rubtsovsky, Uglovsky districts.
The largest areas are located in the Uglovsky and Kulundinsky districts. The best results in growing crops are observed in the Uglovsky district. 87% of the crop of watermelons in the general gross harvest belongs to this region.
