Again, the harvest of table beets, carrots, potatoes and cabbage in Ukraine was under threat due to the two-week lack of rainfall and too high air temperatures that were established in the Center and in the North of the country, EastFruit experts report.
This summer, temperature indicators break all records, including at night, which causes problems in plant development and stress.
According to weather forecasters, precipitation in these regions is not expected over the next week. This can further worsen the condition of plants and even lead to the loss of part of the crop.
The bulk of vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, cabbage and table beets are grown in Ukraine without watering, which means that it is almost impossible to change the situation.
Now gardeners and potato growers hope only for the expected decrease in daily average temperatures in a week. It would be very good if it had rained before this time, since if such weather persists for more than three weeks, crop losses will be inevitable.
It was previously reported that due to the weather established in the country, samples of tomatoes from greenhouses decreased, which led to a jump in product prices.
