In Ukraine, the season of vegetables of the “borsch set” of cultivation in 2019 started. Today in the Ukrainian wholesale markets there are all the positions of the new crop, except carrots.

While the "old" vegetables continue to grow in price, the production of a new crop is constantly becoming cheaper. According to Info-Shuvar analysts, only in the last week of April, early beets in Ukraine fell by 14%, early onions fell by 7%, early potatoes became cheaper by almost 40%, and early cabbage fell by more than 2 times.

The offer of the early “borsch” is made up of domestic and imported products. While the local cabbage market almost completely occupied the local producer, the market for early onions belongs to imported products from Egypt and Uzbekistan.

In the structure of the early potato market, 20% belongs to the Ukrainian producer. Import deliveries of vegetables come from Egypt and Azerbaijan. As for early beets, there are about 60% of the products of local producers. The remaining beets come to Ukraine mainly from Uzbekistan.

Compared with last year, the price of early cabbage fell almost 2 times, and Ukrainian potatoes fell 1.5 times. Prices for early beets are still at the same level as a year ago.
