During the monitoring by analysts of the Information Agency “Industry” it became known that the majority of Ukrainian farmers found rapid development of diseases and pests in winter rape crops.

According to agricultural producers, the weather in May-early June of this year is favorable for the active development of diseases and harmful insects in winter rape crops, which served as an incentive to carry out surgical treatments with plant protection products.

According to respondents, pests such as the crypto-hunter and the cabbage green mosquito were most often seen. These insects infect plant pods. Some farmers have revealed signs of plant diseases, in particular oversporosis and phomosis.

Respondents emphasized that the vagaries of the weather, in particular air temperature and precipitation, do not always make it possible to carry out treatments in the best possible time for the development of cultivated plants and weeds.

This reduces the effectiveness of the drugs and requires additional protection measures for rapeseed. Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian farmers are fighting for a soybean crop with a spider mite, which has successfully spread through crops due to weather conditions.
