According to statistics, in the fields of Vinnitsa region the largest amount of rapeseed is grown. This year, local farmers expect to receive a generous crop of crops.
It is rapeseed at the level of 30-35% that is the most profitable, although it is one of the leaders in terms of costs. This was confirmed by the director of the Khmelnik branch (NIBULON), which cultivates 2940 hectares, Alexander Krolitsky from the village of Shyrokaya Greblya near the city of Khmelnik, Vinnytsia region.
He noted that currently 278 hectares of winter rapeseed are grown on the farm’s lands, and in the future its cultivation area will fluctuate in the range of 300-350 hectares. Last year, farmers received 2.2 t / ha. This year they intend to get a rape crop of at least 2.8-3 t / ha, Alexander Krolitsky said.
In comparison with the 2017-2018 marketing year, in the 2018-2019 marketing year, the growth of cultivated areas allocated for the cultivation of rapeseed has significantly decreased. In 2019, 79.3 thousand ha were sown with crops, which is 3.5% more than in 2018.
Thus, the Vinnitsa region went down to 5th place in terms of the number of sown areas of rape in Ukraine. Earlier it was reported that according to experts' forecasts this year, Ukrainian farmers have every chance to collect a record rapeseed crop of 3.5 million tons, which is 23% more than in 2018.
According to the expert of the oil market, Yulia Garkavenko, the expansion of the sown area under winter rape and its good wintering will contribute to a generous harvest.
