Today it became known that in the Tomsk region, moreover, in two districts at once it was announced the introduction of an emergency regime of a regional scale.
The reason for the introduction of the situation was the total defeat of the local rape crops by a dangerous pest. It is a cabbage moth that attacks rape fields with enviable activity.
Such information was shared with the public by representatives of the press service of the regional administration of the Tomsk region. It was also noted that the moth was activated in rapeseed fields due to overmoistening of the soil.
Cabbage Moth
Wet soil did not allow farmers to process crops from raiders properly. As a result, the raids of cabbage moth provoked the introduction of an emergency regime in the Krivosheinsky and Kozhevnikovsky districts of the region, where at present over seven hundred and eighty hectares of rapeseed are affected by the pest.
The amount of damage exceeds thirty million rubles, as reported by Sergey Zhvachkin, head of the administration of the Tomsk region.
It is noteworthy that today the operational headquarters and experts of the department of socio-economic development of rural areas in the region work in the vast areas of the affected areas. Continuous monitoring of rapeseed is underway.
