Experts of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, assessing the epizootic situation in the country, rely on data obtained from domestic livestock analysts.
Actual facts at the moment indicate that the industry is suffering enormous losses. As the cause of financial losses, experts call the activity of viruses of African swine fever, as well as leukemia, foot and mouth disease and other diseases among cattle, small livestock and poultry.
As of today, it has been established that Russian animal husbandry, according to estimates over the past year, suffers tremendous material losses in the amount of at least 2.3 billion rubles. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev.
The chairman of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that today the issue of improving the quality of veterinary control among domestic animals is acute in the country. The Minister is convinced that, as soon as possible, the levers of influence and the mechanisms for organized and coordinated joint work among different sectors and units of veterinary services should be approved at the level of legislation. This will create a unified state scheme of veterinary control in the Russian Federation.
According to Patrushev, it is possible that from January 1, 2020, regional veterinary services will be controlled not by regional authorities, as is happening today, but by the Rosselkhoznadzor administration.
