Under the harvest of next year, only 350 hectares are sown with winter grains in the Vinnitsa region. areas, which is 15% of the forecast.
Currently, the sowing rate of agricultural crops is seven times behind last year. Nikolay Tkachuk, director of the regional Department of agro-industrial development, spoke about the situation with sowing winter crops in the Vinnitsa region.
According to Nikolai Tkachuk, this year the sowing campaign of winter crops is postponed due to dry weather. Now is not the best time to sow, as productive rainfall has been absent for a long time. The sowing rate is currently seven times lower than in the same period in 2018.
According to the official, in the previous year in the last days of September, the sowing had already reached the final stage.
“It makes no sense to put seeds in the soil. There will still be no further development. But the quality will be lost. Therefore, it is better to wait with sowing. Moreover, there is still enough time before the completion of the optimal deadlines, ”the agronomist of one of the farms shares his thoughts.
According to Nikolai Tkachuk, in one of the recent periods sowing of winter crops was completed by November 8th. However, all the same, Vinnytsia agrarians managed to collect a good harvest of winter crops.
