MHP plans to supply at least 500 tons of poultry meat to the Japanese market per month. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Board for Commerce MHP Sergey Ivanov, commenting on the approval by Ukraine of a veterinary certificate for export of chicken to Japan.
He told what the prospects and specificity of the Japanese market for poultry farmers are. But the Japanese market is very specific and very demanding.
Specific, because the culture of consumption of poultry meat is significantly different from European or consumers from the Middle East. The so-called red poultry meat is most valued in Japan, and this group is certainly promising and interesting for the export of MHP to Japan, ”he says.
Sergey Ivanov predicted how obtaining permission will affect MHP's export policy.
“Over the next 3-4 months, we, together with our Japanese partners, will work out several products in the production that must and will 100% meet the high standards of Japanese consumers.
This year we will start with a test minimum delivery (1-2 containers) in order to understand and confirm the level of compliance with quality requirements together. In the future, we will gradually increase exports.
For 8-10 months, MHP plans to increase the volume of deliveries to the Japanese market to approximately 500 tons of poultry meat per month, gradually increasing to 1 thousand tons, ”said Sergey Ivanov.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Board for Commerce of MHP, the Japanese market is demanding in the culture of consumption and attitude towards the supply of goods to their domestic market.
MHP is interested in working in the Japanese market, because it is very promising both in terms of marginality and per capita consumption. “Their import of poultry products is one of the largest in the world,” the specialist concluded.
